Engineering for our future – Part 2

Congratulations to our friends “The Raiders of the Red Planet” at MSoE (Milwaulkee School of Engineering University). They came 19th out of the 45 teams who made it to the NASA robotic mining competition. They, themselves, nearly failed to compete having suffered a breakdown after 14 hours driving down to Florida. Lincoln Binns helped them with a pre-anodized silver enclosure (see above) for prototyping their electronics and a Solidworks model of it. Director John Binns was pleased to be able to advise them on connectors and wiring looms based on his 31 years experience in electronics and this saved them some time.

When all the prototype modifications were done MSoE supplied us with the Solidworks model of their final design, and we were able to supply a black anodized Uniobox enclosure printed with the “Raiders of the Red Planet” logo in full colour.

Just as we helped the young engineering students at MSoE, so they visited their local school to encourage students to consider an engineering career. “Go Raiders Go!”
