Plastic Electronic Enclosures

Hammond Plastic Electronic Enclosures distributed by Lincoln Binns

These plastic electronic enclosures are made by a company called Ritec in Taiwan.  We have sold them for many years but the Ritec part numbering system is difficult to follow so we made our own numbering system as follows.  The part number for the standard ABS box is simply the outside dimensions e.g. 15010060 is 150x100x60mm.  All versions of this box are available with a flanged lid, as an alternative, which allows the box to be fixed to a flat surface.  This part number has FL in front of it, for example FL150100160 is the same box as before with a slightly different lid.  Similarly waterproof enclosures begin with WP, waterproof clear top boxes begin with WPCT.  All the polycarbonate boxes are also waterproof so they start with WPPC.

A few years ago Hammond Electronics bought into Ritec and began selling their boxes with the Ritec part number, so there are enough Hammond customers who may wish to buy these boxes from us that now we publish a cross reference table with both part numbers.

Simple Plastic Electronics Box

Grey ABS plastic electronic enclosures in ten sizes to take electronic circuit boards. The top has a recess for labels or membrane keypads. The same recess is on the bottom of the enclosure. There are internal pcb mounting pillars on both top and base of the plastic enclosure (pcb mounting screws are supplied). The plastic enclosures are fixed by four small countersunk self-tapping screws (supplied) which will need a No.0 screwdriver. The material ABS is flame retardant according to UL94 V-0.

The flanged plastic electronic enclosure below is the same base with a different lid.

Tilting feet for Simple Plastic Electronic Enclosures

Grey ABS plastic tilting feet secured via screws that fix the lid on to the box. The lid effectively becomes the base of the enclosure with the underside tilted up and facing the user. The material ABS is flame retardant according to UL94 V-0.

Waterproof IP65 Plastic Electronic Enclosures

Grey water-resistant ABS plastic electronic enclosures in eight sizes to take electronic circuit boards. The top has a recess for labels or membrane keypads. There are internal pcb mounting pillars on the base of the enclosure (pcb mounting screws are supplied). The enclosure lids are fixed by four pan-head machine screws (supplied). The material ABS is flame retardant according to UL94 V-0. IP65 waterproofing is via user-fitted O-ring (supplied).

The clear top enclosures below are the same base with a clear ABS lid, and the polycarbonate enclosures below that are the same as these with a better type of plastic.

Most of these electronic enclosures are “deep box with thin lid” as shown in the photograph here, but two are “hi-top” shown in the photograph for the clear top range below.

Waterproof IP65 clear top Plastic Electronic Enclosures

Grey water-resistant ABS plastic electronics enclosures with clear top to take electronic circuit boards in the same eight sizes as the standard waterproof enclosure above. The top has a recess for labels. There are internal pcb mounting pillars on the base of the enclosure (pcb mounting screws are supplied). The enclosure lids are fixed by four pan-head machine screws (supplied). The material ABS is flame retardant according to UL94 V-0. IP65 waterproofing is via user-fitted O-ring (supplied).

The waterproof enclosures above are the same base with a matching colour (non transparent) lid, and the polycarbonate enclosures below are the same as those above with a better type of plastic.

Most of these electronic enclosures are “deep box with thin lid” as shown in the photograph for the waterproof range above, but two are the “hi-top” style shown in this photograph.

Waterproof IP65 Polycarbonate Electronic Enclosures

Grey water-resistant polycarbonate plastic electronic enclosures in eight sizes to take electronic circuit boards. The top has a recess for labels or membrane keypads. There are internal pcb mounting pillars on the base of the enclosure (pcb mounting screws are supplied). The enclosure lids are fixed by four pan-head machine screws (supplied). The material ABS is flame retardant according to UL94 V-0. IP65 waterproofing is via user-fitted O-ring (supplied).

This polycarbonate range of enclosures is more expensive than the physically identical ABS ranges above. Polycarbonate has better impact resistance and resists breakdown by UV rays (sunlight).

Wall mounting feet for the three ranges of waterproof enclosures

Grey polycarbonate plastic wall mounting brackets supplied in a pack of four with four screws for fixing to the waterproof box, four wall fixing plugs and self tapping wall screws to go in them. The material ABS is flame retardant according to UL94 V-0.

A location pip on the lug fits into a recess in the base at each corner of the enclosure and a the supplied self tapping screw goes into a suitably located boss in the enclosure. In this way fixing the bracket on the enclosure does not compromise the waterproofing.
