Ardingly Solar Car Update

Ardingly Solar Car Update

Welcome to Darwin, Australia.

The Ardingly Solar Car has traveled 8,614 miles from Ardingly College to Darwin in Australia to compete the 3000km Bridgestone World Solar Challenge.

Our CEO John Binns has traveled out to Australia with the students to give them help and technical knowledge. As their mentor in business and electronics, John has proved himself to be a valuable member of the Ardingly Solar Team.

They tweeted a very warm thank you to John before leaving the UK.

The team have used all their experience to get the car through static scrutineering and is now ready for dynamic scrutineering which will test the basic functionality of the student made car. During static scrutineering the team broke two world records for “female and male fastest evacuation of a solar car”. Excellent achievement! Not only that, a good luck message from the Team Principal of Williams Racing, Sir Frank Williams.

John has reported back to us with all the updates and images from behind the scenes and we are all very much looking forward to seeing what the next few days have in store for the team.

As always, we wish them all the very best of luck.

You can follow their progress on Facebook, Twitter and their blog.
